What our families say....

Don't just take our word for it..... Every year we ask families to give us some feedback on how they have experienced preschool with us! Here is what some families had to say...

2016/17 year:

"I loved how much I saw him grow and develop socially and physically! Before preschool, he was always very shy and would avoid other kids and was very cautious on the playground.... He is now much more willing to take chances, figure things out and engage in active play solo and with friends. I've also really seen his love of music grow this year!

'Overall, we have been very happy and hope to enroll our younger child in a few years'

'My son loves coming here!"

"We absolutely love the preschool and the staff. I can't have imagined a better experience for R and for us. R started a little younger and C was so helpful in getting that all sorted out with licensing. Teachers E, T, and L are wonderful, they are so energetic and fun and confident with the kids. We can't get over all the neat things they do ... everyday there is something new and wonderful and so many choices for the kids. We love that they go outside and have the kindy-gym available. ..... We have never felt, not even for a moment, hesitant about leaving R there or worried she would be bored or her needs not met. It has been perfect,... we love that there are so many opportunities to get messy and creative without a focus on creating something specific.... Thanks so much, we look forward to being here for another year or two!'

'J's language development has grown so much this year, and we feel that that is greatly attributable to her experience at Full o'Beans! T and E were so encouraging and understanding with J's first experience at preschool and her lack of talking. And J looks forward to going to school so that speaks to how she feels about the preschool!"

2015/16 year:

My son S began preschool in Sept. 2014. Now that we have arrived in June of 2016, I can say without reservation that his time at preschool has been essential to his development, his ability to assert himself and respect others, and his growing sense of himself and his place in the community. ...... the teachers have been effective in guiding S throughout he ins and outs of social interactions with the other children, with time and patience.... to be really, truly listened to by teachers, and to have it reinforced that adults care and are interested, will lead S and the other children towards being able to speak for themselves and to stand up for themselves when needed as they grow older..... This kind of respect for the children as individuals within a community, each with his or her own needs but with the support and understanding of their friends and teachers (and a little redirection or a clear reminder of acceptable behaviour when needed) is a wonderful model..... I am always so happy to see everyone leave school covered in mud, with their pockets full of rocks and sticks. I can't think of a better curriculum or a more prestigious way to begin educating children.
I am very happy to have S in a program where he can develop his own friends and interests, and I have been glad to see him embrace school, create relationships, learn new skills and form bonds, as well as to decide what he does not enjoy or want to participate in. While I am always made to feel as though I may stay with S in the classroom if I want to, I am at the same time made to feel like everything will be fine if I leave. It is of course not just the students but also the parents that are learning through this process of separation and growing independence, and I appreciate that you are cognizant of this.
Finally, the integration of the preschool into Saanich Neighbourhood Place seems to me to be an absolutely essential component of your approach, in that the school and the children are regarded as one component of a healthy community....  I hope Full o'Beans will continue with its great staff and its current approach to childhood education. I am sure that S will remember his time at preschool for the rest of his life, in both big and small ways. Thank you, all of you , for everything you have brought to his experience."

'My daughter learned a lot, and made friends. She came to understand morning routines and is excited to go to 'my school mommy, my school!'. Full o' Beans has some of the best staff I have ever met. I have to honestly say they made the whole preschool experience a wonderful one. I honestly felt my daughter was in a safe place. My dad was also very impressed when the staff asked for photo ID when he picked her up and they hadn't met him before!'

"We really enjoyed Full o'Beans this year. It's conveniently close and I really like the Saanich Neighborhood Place feel. You guys are so great and we like to support you. The teachers are fantastic with the kids, and they get a good balance of different types of play. Thank you!

'The staff are amazing and experienced. They are willing to help my son with the extra support he needs and to work with his support workers to help him grow in different areas!'

2014/2015 year:

"It is a great preschool and my daughter has made some great friends. The location is also ideal for us and it is affordable! She is excited when she learns something new and talks about the friends she has made. The teachers are awesome with the kids, and the special projects they make for the parents for special occasions ie: the mother's day cards with their hand prints and their take on mom... It made me cry. I loved it so much!"

Given a room full of feisty kids that are often 'full of beans', some of whom have specific issues, teachers are doing a very, very nice job of it. Our little guy is happy to go and happy to come home, so that says it all for us :)'

"We love watching him grow and become independent, and he loves to come home and share all the fun things he did at school. We are very glad you offered the outdoor program."

'S loves preschool at Full o'Beans, I found the staff welcoming and warm and we are both excited to continue in September"

'The hours and flexibility are fabulous. I love the outdoor time the children have and the commitment to physical activity each day. The staff truly care and forge relationships with the children."
